Oregon at its Best

Happy Birthday Jeramie! Before Summer began we sat with the Dowds and planned on a few day hikes one was to Eagle Creek where Punch Bowl Falls is. Today we went hiking at Eagle Creek with our friends. Sadly we left the kids behind. We ended hiking all day which we didn't intend on. So it begins, Oregon at it's Best. I love to listen to the rolling water. As we started I learned that Stacy is just afraid of heights as I am. We wern't sure what we were going to encounter along the way, but we couldn't waite to get started. We had to take some nice photos along the way.
The quieter you become the more you can hear.
Right beside you is where I belong from this moment on.....
Like I said earlier Stacy and I are both afraid of HEIGHTS! Well there were some pretty steep areas. Some had a cable attached to the hill side. This allowed you to hold on to the cable. In some areas Stacy and I looked at each other and wondered who was going to go first.
Just the fear that our hubbies were standing on the edge of the cliff gave me the bageebies. Oh by the Guys were so cool about it. They encouraged us to take the pictures. Literally they were on the edge. YIKES!
A close up of them as they were on the edge.
I love any opportunity to take a picture. We had some people walking by take this one. Do you notice everyone in the picture but me has a back pack? Well I was the one taking pictures. I called my self the princess. Jeramie carried the back pack. Oopps we could have carried more water. I guess next time I will carry my own back pack.
Happiness is standing right here in the spot with you...
While I had the camera Jeramie asked for it of course I take the ppl pics and he takes the nature one. Glad he did he always captures Beauty at it Best!

Taking a little rest. Enjoying the river below. Before this last year I wouldn't have thought to go on hikes. Jeramie always wanted to and so did Pat. Although neither Stacy or I had any interest. I am so thankful for the opportunities to enjoy the Beauty around us. It was funny Stacy and I talked a lot about Girs camp and the hikes we did there. It is amazing to do these things with your hubbie and another couple.
PUNCH BOWL FALLS! This is amazingly Beautiful. I have hiked several falls and this is by far absolutly amazing.
Could this water get any colder. Glacier water isn't the most warm. I am freezing my keister off and look in the back ground. Stacy is standing there like it is no big deal. My immediate reaction was "Take the picture I am freezing. I have never been this cold before" I turned around and there I see cool and collected Stacy soaking up the Beauty. As If... What ever was she cold? Who the heck knows she's just hanging out all the way up to her knees. While I am only putting my feet in. Stacy you are just as amazing as the water fall. You rock, just like your rock statue you are strong.
Awe! Finally a nice picture. Now I can get out of the freezing cold water.
Oops back in it for another picture. Me and my Hubbie. I love you!
Oh goody another person handeling the freezing water well. What is up with me?
Stacy build a rock statue and a dang good one too. When we got there we saw a few others built. Stacy was bound and determined to build one. While we were checking out the area Stacy is over in her own world building this formation. I tried but mine well it flopped. Stacy's turned out way cool by the water.
This area was right accross from where I was standing. I really wanted to swim over there and just sit. I looked like a nice spot to meditate.
Check out these Rock formations. These were huge. Taller than Jeramie and he is 5'11".
Now that is a handsome picture. We just love our men.
We stood right on the side of this cliff looking down the fall. Stacy and I were thinking if the water was warmer we would just jump in. The only problem was how were we going to get back up.
This is the top of Punch Bowl Falls
A little squeeze under a tree.

Jeramie was taking a nature pic and the butterfly landed on the flower. What an amazing photo!
Of course Jeramie standing on another cliff. Yikes!
I am standing on a bridge millions of feet above the water looking down with my tummy in my throught taking this picture. I loved the logs how they fell. I was wondering how I could get there to sit in the middle.

We were hiking around this hill side. We were somewhere in the middle hiking. Wow that is a long way up.
So this is what it is like hiking with your best friend, Your Hubbie. There is no one like you!
Oh no, Holly you know what. We had to hike around that. What ever I looked at Stacy and she looked at me and we decided to just keep looking at the trail. Where in the heck was the cable? No cable and the trail was only big enough for one person. Oh my was that steep. We did it. No big deal.
Stacy and I walk alittle faster than the boys. Not sure why but we sat down to take a rest while the boys caught up to us. We looked at the water fall from a cliff sitting way back.
Here is a pic of them hiking along a steep hill side. I kinda doesn't look like it is steep but it sure is. Not to mention the turain is very uneven. We certainly had to be careful of the ditches. Slippery rocks, and sloapy spots. So to describe the picture below. Pat really wanted to get in the river after lunch. So he did. At first when he got in he thought it was cold but not till he took off his shirt and went a little farther.
Snap went the camera and I got the Best Picture ever. His face says it all. But what was the best was when Pat saw this picture for him self. We were in tears laughing so hard.
I cooled off by sitting on this cozy rock and put my feet in. I loved it.
Everything you do can be done better from a place of relaxation.

some flowers we saw along the way. The petals cure up at the base of the stem.
Holy smokes. I was just standing over there. We had been walking for so long remember I said "No looking down but foward"? yeah well I went behind the Water fall and just kept on going. There was a lady holding on the to cable and she looked very wind blown. The water fall shoots fast off the top so it is very windy. Not to mention the spray from the water fall gets you wet. The terain that you walk on is slippery from the water getting the rocks wet. But that didn't stop me. I was the little energizer bunny and kept going. Stacy was out side the tunnel and I looked at her from the opposite side and Realized that the path had a very abrupt drop off. Straight down. YIKES! that was crazy. I had my fingers in my mouth looking back at Stacy and she didn't come. I all of a sudden had a inner rush inside and felt that fear of falling. I walked back and held onto the cable. Than got wet...
Our camera didn't take the best picture of the water fall. Jeramie and I were standing outside of the tunnel that is cut behind the water fall leaning up aginst the inner wall. We loved this as we were getting wet. It was nice to cool off.
Jeramie leaning against the fall
Oh it is cold. I was freaking out at this point I just took a moment to look down. I realized just how far I was up off the ground.
Yikes!
Check out this wather fall. This is the fall that we were behind. A picture looking back
The end of our day. It was the most BEAUTIFUL DAY! I loved hiking and what a better time than to be with My hubbie out exploring on his birthday with our friends. This day was filled with many memories that will be treasured forever. I feel truely blessed to have been given such beauty to enjoy. I love this Place we call Oregon.

Hot Fun in the Summer Time

Hornings Hide out. Great Fishing, hiking not to mention good food. We went to Hornings with the Dowd family on a monday evening. The kids enjoyed fishing with their dads. Stacy and I stayed back and pre-pared dinner, sang to Stacy's lovely 80's music, Danced the electric slide and enjoyed peace and Quiet. The kids loved catching fish and were so proud of all that they caught.
Check out those Hotties... and I don't mean the fish!

Fish any one???????
These are two silly boys. Brendon is always doing bunny ears with Tanner. Can't see the bunny ears but they are there.
Good ol' Summer Fun in your own home. Tanner and Renee build a fort inside the house and wanted to sleep there. There plan was to have a big enough fort that Jeramie and I could fit. Well it was only big enough for the two of them, color books, pens, snugglies, babies, blankies, and the pillows... not much left for mom and dad.
Night night... Don't let the sleeping bag bugs bite.
Over the last year I taught Dance class. Every two months we changed to a different style. We started with Creative movement, ballet, tap and Jazz. The girls earned a trophy for sticking through it and we performed for the parents at the Gazeebo in the park. We had a lot of fun, I will miss my girls.
Laying one brick at a time. Jeramie, Sean and My Day layed brick to make and extended patio in our back yard. It took all day and by the time they were done their backs were hurting and they had blisters on their fingers. I (we) now have an extended living space out side and can enjoy the cool summer evenings. Thank you Men!!!!!
I love that we took out the grass where the rock is. Everything came together so nicely.
While the boys were working on the back patio I was making Freezer Jam. Hood strawberry Jam. I enjoyed doing this. My freezer is now full of JP's favorite Jam.
The kids entertained them selves with some good ol' LEGO fun. Tanner said that the item behind them is a basketball hoop.
Field day at Tanner's school. Last day good byes. Mr. Keifer is moving to the High School hopefully temporary. He will be missed going into this next year. Tanner enjoys Mr. K and so did I. He has a great program and teaches a dance section to the 6th graders. I was looking foward to helping him. Maybe another time.
Tanner showing me his knock out moves.
Congratulations Renee. You graduated from Pre-School. Renee said when she grows up she wants to be a "Singer". our little Hannah Montana in training.
Arrr maty, Tanner and Gabe soward fighting with their popsicles. Last day of school party.
Pirate scavanger hunt. We used Tanners pirate box to hide treasure and gave them a crypted map to find it. I wonder if they will find a secret hiding compartment that had money???
Tanner and Mrs. Ferrigan (Mrs. F) we will miss you next year. You are the best.
I made these thank yous for the Teachers on the last day of school. Vase's came from $ tree, wooden skewers and I cut the flowers on the cricut. Add a hershy kiss and some candy in the vase and you have a super cute thank you.

Oh what cute boys. This was an emotional moment for their mommy as both the boys attended pre-school together this year. Tyler in the stripped shirt will be moving on to Kindergarden with Renee while Austin will go one more year to pre-school.

So I mixed up the Baseball pics. But this is Tanner playing in the sprinkler after playing 3 games in 90 degree weather.
Tanner got his metal from Coach Dan. Dan was a wonderful coach with lots of patience. He worked well with all the kids. Tanner had a lot of fun this season.
